2nd artist (Nam June Paik, 백남준)
I was surprise to see a Korean name on the list! His art is known as VIDEO ART and it is really creative works. For instance, he has created a robot using several TV’s. He treated this robot as if it were a human being and said that buying a robot is similar to adapting a kid. As you can see in the picture below, his art work is really attractive. One thing I notice as looking at some of his work is that, all of his work has to do with TV. I personally like “garden TV” from his work. It has at least 30 TV’s lying on the tree and he wants to ask from audience are we dealing with a symbiosis of nature and technology, or whether the new media are leading us back into the jungle with their disordered mass of rampant images. Nam June Paik is really creative artist that gives questions for people to think of as we look at his art work. Can we think of his work as real? Or is it fake, which uses material that is well known to everyone and tries to get attention? Can we really think of something that is relevant to us rather than just think that its interesting or funny?
